It's much easier for warrior to run a lot more defensive armor cards because they help the deck stabilize and close the game. Mainly because Reno preist and Reno lock have historically had better finishers than warrior and druid doesn't really have all that many control cards so it tends to over really on plague.ĪTM with odyn the meta is different. Most formats in wild Reno has been better than control warrior and control druid. Same goes for a warr and druid who get to spam armor and even mana. I just don’t see why reno is stronger than having 60 health as a dk and u still get to play all the best cards u want.ĭepends on the meta but mostly the issue is DK doesn't have enough cards that are good. +29 life is often more than enough to time Walk a turn or two until you can play your top end or use another card to control the board. Reno still treats life as a resource so it plays Reno in aggressive metas.īasically every meta in wild is aggressive if Reno is playable at all.Īlso gaining enough life is a tempo move for Reno. This is what Reno is for, it lets control decks get out of the burn damage the agro Decks play. These decks absolutely can win after the opponent takes board control. The problem is more traditional agro decks like shadow preist and pirate rogue have a ton of burn damage from hand and constant damage. Both in wild tend to run plenty of interaction to stop early board snow balling from decks like mech paladin, Shadow preis, or pirate rogue. Reno decks tend mostly to be control or combo decks. This is also why healing tend to be a lot larger and often include a body that develops some what was well. It's also why threats tend to do a lot more the higher the CMC. Because there's no blocking life gain can be needed to just not get killed. There's taunts and "psuedo taunts" but it's still always up to the attacker how to play. Developing a bigger threat block smaller threats. Essentially it's generally just better to develop a threat as opposed to gaining life. In TCGs like magic the gathering this is pretty common advice for new players. Reno needs to treat life as a resource so it has to play some ways to get out of burn range once it has stabilized. If the deck you're playing doesn't need to consider life as a resource it's almost never correct to play life gain but not every deck is constructed the same. It's more complete to say "life is a resource". This is a fairly dated take in card games.
